Asfour Residence
A contemporary Residential Spatial Design
// The project is a renovation of an existing villa for a young couple which consist of a basement, ground floor, and a first floor (extension). I worked on creating an interior language of space that was inspired from the new layout of the renovation.
The challenging part of this project was to create the requested sophisticated, contemporary feeling in formal areas, while unifying it with a simpler language in the casual spaces.
The key element of the design was the arches that are made of green marble emphasizing the spine of the plan and are visually connected to secondary spaces such as the salon, dining, living room, staircase, office and kitchen. In addition, there is an elite transition of space that was emphasized through the selection of furniture, furnishings, materials, customized units, and lighting.
Customization was a key factor for this project in order to achieve the coherency between one space and the other. From the tiniest detail of a cabinet handle up to designing most of vanity sinks, travertine walls, as well as detailed woodwork.
